Styrene
Styrene is a colorless, flammable liquid chemical that is highly volatile with a sweet, pungent odor. It is used as a primary industrial monomer to produce wide range of plastics, resins, used to produce polystyrene plastics, protective packaging, fiberglass, rubber, and latex for food containers, insulation, car parts, and carpet backing. China produces around 60% of global production, with other major capacity found in Asia-Pacific. Production growth is also noted in India, the US, and Canada.
